The dreaded "E" word

online study distance study essay extension
The dreaded "E" word So I had to apply for my first ever extension.

Which is probably enough to tell you that so far this semester of employment law study has been hard work for me. I basically just found the assignment to be quite full on and with sick kids, very sick me, along with all the other day to day life stressors, I ended up slightly under pressure. I went off to Mums for her to take over babysitting duties and started my assignment – however then my laptop kindly decided it wasn’t going to play ball and wouldn’t charge.

There were tears.

Everything was on my laptop and luckily with the 2% charge that I did have, I was able to send what I had done already to my email. As it turned out I had grabbed the charger to my partner’s laptop and it was not a match.

I rang my partner with tears and stress coming clearly down the phone line and with only a few days to complete what I needed to get in on time, he suggested that perhaps an extension request was in order. I reluctantly agreed, put the request through and started working on my Dad’s awful desktop computer in the middle of the house with children running around me. It wasn’t ideal.

As it turned out, I completed the assignment that day and didn’t need the extension but at least I knew it was there if I needed it. So if you’re finding yourself in a less than ideal situation with assignment dates looming, take the options that are there to help you. Even doing one paper can still add a lot of extra pressure to an already busy life. Another two weeks or so for my next assignment to be due and I’m a bit more onto this one. I’m halfway through already and am feeling confident that I won’t be succumbing to the pressure of assignment due dates. I’m nearly finished yet another semester and have one more paper down. Remember that time will pass anyway – good on you for working hard towards your future, despite the stress. It will be worth it!
